Brief overview of the program

The objective of QSW is to refresh quantitative skills that are prerequisites for MBA study with special emphasis on applying these skills to business situations that are the focus of the first year core courses. This program is entirely voluntary. Typically about 30% of the incoming class chooses to participate in QSW. There is no cost to enroll in QSW, but you must register by Monday, July 28 to allow us time to prepare your copy of the materials. QSW will take place Monday, August 18 through Tuesday, August 19. It has been fully-integrated with all other pre-term events held during that week so that you will be able to fully participate in all orientation and leadership development activities with other incoming students.

The program includes lectures (on a variety of topics), breakout problem-solving sessions, notebook reference material and numerous practice problems written in a business context drawn directly from Fall A core courses. Specific MBA course material will not be covered, but all topics are taught in a business context by experienced senior Ross faculty.
